Mary Nihiser

Mary M. Nihiser, 67, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 10:25 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at Symphony of Decatur nursing home. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 18, at North Fork Cemetery, Decatur. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to: National Kidney Foundation. Mary was born June 3, 1945, in Decatur, the daughter of Charles L. and Betty (Hicks) Mendenhall. She married John Lloyd Nihiser, Jr. on November 4, 1963. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2008. Mary enjoyed playing Bingo and going to garage sales. Surviving are her son: Charles Lynn Nihiser and wife Julie of Decatur; grandchildren: Nathaniel and Michaela Nihiser at home, Blake Soberg, Brooke Hutson and Brent Hutson; son-in-law: Tom Bennett of Decatur; sister: Marylon Grider and husband Terry of Decatur; brothers: Brad Mendenhall and wife Vicki, and Mark Mendenhall and wife Teresa, all of Decatur; special nieces: Amber Mendenhall and Tina Marie Mendenhall; and special great-nephew: Justin Grider Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Debbie Bennett and brother Michael.
