Mary Irene (Kyle) Lewis, 99, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026 in Flower
Mound, Texas.
Irene was born February 26, 1927 in Shumway, Illinois, the daughter of Glen
and Bessie (Dial) Kyle.
After graduating from Beecher City High School she spent some time in nursing school in St. Louis.
She married Cecil Howard Lewis July 28, 1946. During her lifetime, she enjoyed square dancing, reading, sewing, playing card games with her family and was a St. Louis
Cardinals fan. She loved telling stories about her life on the farm in Illinois. She enjoyed researching and recording family history and put together several family albums for her children. Irene loved God. Her faith and trust in Him was an important part of her life. She, along with her husband, had a godly influence on their family.
Irene is survived by her children, Lynna Heiden of Barstow, CA, Dianne Taylor (Michael) of Sachse, TX, Kathy Lewis of Lewisville, TX and Barbara Elmen (Frank) of Lewisville, TX; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Lloyd Kyle, Bill Kyle (Diane) and Joe Kyle (Kathy).
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard; two brothers,
Royal Kyle and Ron Kyle; four sisters, Glenna Flesner, Bonnie Durbin, Shirley
Davis and Patricia Kyle; and son-in-law Timothy Heiden.
Visitation and Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Brintlinger
and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, Illinois.
Visitation: 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Funeral Service: 11;00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, Illinois.
