Mary Elizabeth Leisner, 85, of Decatur, died Sunday, August 10, 2008, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation 5-7 P.M. Tuesday, August 12, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County.Mrs. Leisner was born April 17, 1923, the daughter of Harvey and Sarah Ethel (Russell) Crose. She married Everett F. Leisner December 19, 1945, in Champaign, Illinois. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Leisner worked as an assembler at a war plant in the 1940's. She also worked at the Herald and Review as a proof reader, at Decatur Blue Print as a secretary, at Emerson Piano as a secretary, and at A.E. Staley as a clerk in the Telex Dept., retiring in 1981. Mrs. Leisner loved animals, reading, and traveling, but most of all she loved her family with all her heart. They were her world.She is survived by her daughters Lou Ann Goodman and Lynette Bilyeu and husband Frank, all of Blue Mound; grandchildren: Nicole Garrett and husband Zach of Dalton City; William Goodman and wife Fernanda of Mexico; Trisha Bilyeu of Decatur; Zack Goodman of Blue Mound; great granddaughter Sophia Fernanda Goodman of Mexico; future great granddaughter Rachel Christine Garrett; special niece and sister-in-law Elaine Leisner and husband Ike of Weldon.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Everett Lightening, five brothers and two sisters.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
