Mary Ann “Memom” Jones, 89, of Decatur, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 19, 2018 at her residence with her family by her side.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 23 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary Ann’s honor may be made to Community Bible Church for missions or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.Mary Ann was born July 1, 1928 in Frisco, IN, the daughter of John and Sally Ernestine (Hannah) Burchfield. She married Robert Layne Jones on November, 29, 1954 in Granite City and he survives. Mary Ann was a secretary at the Regional office for Decatur Public Schools, District 61. She loved reading, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with family. Mary Ann was a member of Community Bible Church.She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert; daughter Rebecca E. Griffin (Scott) of Decatur; grandson Andrew Burger (Amanda); granddaughters Ashley Burger (Crystal) of Decatur and Tina Baumann of California; great grandchildren, Izaiah, Jade, Amelie, Rylee, and Fynn.Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Judy Rogers; and one brother, Buddy Burchfield. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8) Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
