Mary Hite

Mary E. Hite, 84, of La Place, IL passed away on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014 at Heritage Health of Mt. Zion. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Cerro Gordo, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior from 12noon to 1:00pm on Thursday. Burial will be at the Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Memorials are to be made to the Heritage Health Activity Fund. Mary was born on April 1, 1929 in Ekron, Kentucky the daughter of Alvin and Mary Ellen (Thornhill) Haynes. She married Jerome H. Wells on June 6, 1946 in Arcola, IL and he preceded her in death. Mary, then married Carl Hite in Farmer City, IL on Oct. 11, 1975. He also preceded her in death. Mary loved to garden, and was a member of the Church of the Brethren in La Place, IL. Surviving Mary are three children; Linda Bradshaw of La Place, IL; Dennis Wells and wife Candy of Monticello, IL; and Darrel and wife Christine of Sullivan, IL. Also surviving are three step-daughters and one sister, Dorothy Schrock of Farmer City, IL. Mary is also survived by several nieces and nephews; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one daughter, Beverly Warner, one brother, Gene Daily, and a great-granddaughter, Audrey. The family would like to give a special thanks to all the nurses, CNAs and staff and Dr. McCormack. "
