Mary Charlotte Heitz, 85, of Decatur, IL, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024 at her residence.
A memorial visitation will be 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Friday, November 15, 2024 at Oak Grove Church of the Nazarene, 1890 W Garfield Ave, Decatur, IL. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM, Friday at the church.
Mary was born January 25, 1939, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Robert and Reba (Peyton) Brewer. She married Russell Jean Heitz on December 8, 1957.
Mary worked at AE Staley as a secretary for many years. She enjoyed playing piano, singing at church, and traveling, especially in the West. Mary was a member of Oak Grove Church of the Nazarene, where she was a song leader, played piano, and a Sunday school teacher.
Mary is survived by her husband of 66 years, Russell Jean; son, Stephen Heitz of Decatur; grandchildren: Kayla Heitz and Genna Heitz.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Brewer.
