Mary Gosnell

Mary E. Gosnell, 86, of Decatur, formerly of Dalton City, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018, surrounded by her family at Heritage Health. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 11 at Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary’s honor may be made to the Judah Austin Education Fund at Staley Credit Union. Mary was born March 18, 1932 in Mt Zion, IL, the daughter of Lawrence T. and Lola V. (Scott) Meny. She married Dewey Gosnell on December 19, 1953 in Mt. Zion. She owned Mt. Zion Building Center and worked there many years. After her retirement Mary enjoyed “runnin’ the roads” with Dewey. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dewey; daughter, Tamara Boeker (Dennis) of Springfield; granddaughter, Rachael Austin (Benjamin) of Decatur; grandson, Matthew Gideon (Whitney) of Springfield, OH, and great grandson, Judah Austin. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Betty Ann Bruder.
