Mary Lou Eckart, 77, of Decatur, IL, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, at her residence.Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery, Harristown, IL.Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists, Decatur, IL.Mary Lou was born September 11, 1940, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of John and Virginia (Rollinger) Goodbrake. She married Donald S. “Doc” Eckart, Sr. on November 25, 1979 in Decatur, IL.Mary Lou had a passion for caring for and taking care of others. She never knew a stranger. We will cherish our memories and she will be deeply missed and always loved.Surviving are her children Tina (Terry) Parish, Charles Davis, Donald Davis, Sonnie Davis, Stanley (Cassie) Davis, all of Decatur, IL, Crystal (Sean) Strode of KY, Keith (Ashley) Eckart of TN, Malia (Ian) Hearty of Summerfield, IL, Heather (Brandon) Beard of TN, Donna Harris of Decatur, IL, Mike (Rose) Eckart of AR, David (fiancee’ Connie Poland) Eckart of Warrensburg, IL, Mark (Marian) Eckart of Decatur, IL, 53 grandchildren, 88 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; 4 foster children; siblings Dale (Sandy) Goodbrake of AR, Ron Goodbrake and family of TX, Rose Crane of Sullivan, IL, Bobby Rollinger of Decatur, IL; good friends Marla Brown of SC, Annette Heger of Chicago, IL; and her fur babies Simon and Buddy.She was preceded in death by her husband Donald S. “Doc” Eckart, Sr., her parents, daughter Mary Ann Sheets, son Donald S. “Huck” Eckart, Jr., 3 step sisters and 2 brothers.The family would like to give special thanks to Nancy Munson, her caregiver and new family member.
