Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 30, 2008, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery, Decatur, IL.Bernice was born August 21, 1917, in Tiptonville, TN, the daughter of Roscoe and Emma (Qualls) Corlew. She married Walton Henry Buckles (Johnny).Bernice was a homemaker and worked part time as a cook at Johns Hill School and Lakeview High School in Decatur. She attended Grace United Methodist Church and later attended Third United Methodist Church. After retirement, she moved to Mission, TX, where she enjoyed camping, walking, swimming, yoga, bicycling, clog dancing, doing crossword puzzles and knitting. Bernice was a volunteer nurse for the American Red Cross during WWII.She is survived by her daughters Judy Workman and husband Gary of Omaha, NE and Vicky Wilson and husband Mike of Decatur, IL; son John Ricky Buckles and wife Sheila of Decatur, IL; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Martin Corlew of Memphis, TN and Paul Corlew of Los Angeles, CA.Bernice will be missed by her loving family and many friends. "
