Mary Ann Harlow, 77, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. A woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love, she was the heart of our family – our shelter, our anchor and our constant source of comfort. Though her battle at the end was heavy, she met it with grace, dignity and courage, always maintaining the love in her eyes and strength in her spirit. She was born February 28, 1948 in Decatur, the daughter of Walter and Doris (Gass) Koshinski. She was a nurse for many years working in doctors offices and nursing homes and providing compassionate care to all of her patients. Mary Ann loved gardening and caring for her plants, fishing, driving her Jeep and exploring Central Illinois finding thrift stores.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who poured herself into her children and grandchildren’s lives and always seemed to have the right words at the right time. Rooted in her Lutheran faith, she was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, and she believed in God’s promises and carried them close, especially in her final chapter.
Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Monday, October 27, 2025 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Funeral will be 11:00 AM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown.
Surviving are her children: Robert (Emily) Harlow of Troy, IL and Lisa Kornewald of Mt. Zion; grandchildren: Christian Harlow, Alexandra (Chris) McKenzie, Casey (Stephen) Bess, Dustin (Chelsea) Kornewald and Russell Henderson, Jr.; great-grandchildren: Ian, Luca, Callie, Hayden, Wynter, Corbin, Keyli, Rohan, Zach, Delilah, Easton and Grayson. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever carry her with them – in their choices, laughter, and the values she instilled in their hearts.
