Visitation will be 6-8 P.M. Friday, November 28, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Saturday, November 29, at the funeral home. Please note that casual attire is acceptable for both services. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Macon County Honor Guard.Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church, 1818 East Mound Road, Decatur, IL 62526, or the Seven County Kidney Fund, 701 North 1 Street, Springfield, IL 61781Marvin was born July 2, 1932, in Decatur, the son of Thural Ambrose Sowers and Nellie Caroline (Camp). He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany for eighteen months.He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn, his son Marvin Lynn and wife Mona, daughter Sheryl Ann Polley and husband Stan; grandson Stephen Sowers, granddaughters, Keri Binkley, Cindy Faith, and Cristie Sowers, step granddaughter, Laura Howe, great grandchildren, Kayla, Blake, Austin, Owen, and Lily. Marvin is also survived by his brothers Robert, Wayne, Ross, Rex, Gene, Darrell and Gary, and sisters Virginia Foster and Carol Shafer.He was preceded in death by his mother and father.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
