Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2009, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Decatur.Memorials may be made to: Shirley Hardin.On May 1, 1922, Martha Jane (Midge) Odeneal entered this world as the second child of the late Pearl and Emma Nixon Odeneal. Her season on this earth was filled with laughter, tears, love, and the knowledge that she was a child of God. Martha was a life long resident of Decatur. She attended Decatur Public Schools where she graduated from Decatur High School in 1941. Her love of music and singing was an inspiration and won her accolades as a member of the Colored Girls Choir in high school. She was a gifted conversationalist and always had interesting stories to share with many of her nieces and nephews. She excelled at cooking and was known for her culinary skills as an exceptional baker of chocolate cakes. She grew up as a member of Antioch Church.In 1942, she married Molin Pumphrey. From this union her loving son George Pumphrey was born.She will be missed by her son George and his wife Rita, her sister Sherley Perkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers Nelson Jackson Odeneal, William Albert Odeneal, and George Nelson Odeneal, and one sister Josephine Davis. "
