Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, at Niantic Christian Church. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, August 14, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery.Memorials may be made to Niantic Christian Church.Marshall was born January 4, 1928, in Niantic, the son of Walter D. and Julia (Bruce) Stahl. He married Dolores Irene Damery on November 29, 1952.Marshall was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the US Army from 1950 to 1952. Marshall farmed for 43 years, in the Niantic-Illiopolis area, retiring in 1995. He was a lifetime member of Niantic Christian Church, a member of the Farm Bureau, serving on the board for two terms, and a member of the Niantic-Harristown school board, serving one term.Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Dolores of Niantic; children Gregory (Deloris) Stahl of Seneca, IL, Diane (Ron) Paoli of Springfield, IL, Marsha (Jeff) Warmoth of Harristown, IL and Dan (Carol) Stahl of Niantic, IL. Also surviving are grandchildren Jason, Jared, and LeAnn Stahl of Seneca, IL, Aaron and Alex Warmoth of Harristown, IL, and Jeremy and Jennifer Embrey of Niantic, IL; brother Walter Stahl, and his twin sister Mildred Eckhart.Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bruce, Frank, Larry, Herman, and Carl, and sisters Mary Himstedt and Julia Edgerley. The family wishes to thank Dr. Velasco, the staff at DMH, and Angie, Marshalls home care provider, for their care and compassion given to Marshall. "
