Mark Alan Ferriell

Mark Alan Ferriell, 74, of Decatur, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026, at Fair Havens Senior Living, in Decatur.

Visitation will be held at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2026, at the funeral home, and burial will take place at Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials in Mark’s honor may be made to Life Builder’s Church of God.

Mark was born on October 20, 1951, to Warren Leroy and Mary Lou (Jenner) Ferriell. He graduated from Eisenhower High School and later from Richland Community College. He spent most of his career working in financial services, where he built lasting relationships and took pride in serving others.

He attended Life Builders Church of God and Mark lived his faith through kindness and community. He had a lifelong love of music and played drums for many years, including 14 special years performing with his brother Tom and friend Larry in their band, “Voyagers.” Mark also enjoyed coaching his son’s sports teams and was an enthusiastic Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.

Mark had a remarkable gift for lifting the people he loved, offering encouragement with a warmth that made everyone feel seen and valued. He never met a stranger—only friends he hadn’t gotten to know yet—and his family and friends cherished him deeply.

Mark is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jodi Ferriell of Decatur; his children, Mark V. (Lori) Ferriell of Decatur, Robert W. (Courtney) Ferriell of Springfield, and Alan (Brittany) Ferriell of Decatur; eleven grandchildren; three great‑grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, John and Tom Ferriell.
