Marjorie Allola Cooley, 96, of Decatur, IL died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Aspen Ridge Care Center, Decatur, IL. Marjorie was born October 19, 1915 in Decatur, the 4th of 6 children to Thomas and Irene (Bear) McDaniel. She spent her early years in Decatur where she began her 58 year career as a waitress. On April 29, 1958 Marjorie married Earl Cooley, Jr. and their marriage lasted until his death in 1998. Earl and Marjorie moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she continued her career. She loved being a waitress and was fantastic at it. She had a steady stream of repeat customers that loved her bright smile and lively sense of humor. Several of them were famous folk passing through Phoenix on their way to Las Vegas and beyond. A few of her favorites were Johnny Cash and Charlie Pride. Marjorie is survived by her daughters Deloris (Bass) Eckart of Decatur, IL and Peggy Lou (Bass) Jones and husband Charles of Cedar Park, TX; 5 grandchildren, Jack, Jim, Marla Kay, Chuck Jr., and Teri Lynn; 5 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. All adored "Gram" and will miss her so very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, two sisters, infant son, William, son-in-law Jack Eckart, and grandson Billy Jones. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m., Monday March 19, 2012 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, IL. "
