Marjean Neibuhr

Marjean S. “Marge” Neibuhr, 85, of Decatur, IL passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the services. Marge was born on February 19, 1931, in Grinnell, IA, the daughter of Howard L. and Dorothea (Chambers) Montgomery. She married Guy F. Neibuhr on September 23, 1951. He preceded her in death in 2014.Marge graduated from Maroa-Forsyth High School. She was a housewife and devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Decatur, IL.Marge is survived by one son; Doug (Jody) Neibuhr of Decatur, IL; one daughter Sherry (Andy) Thomas of Decatur, IL; and one sister, Virginia “Ginger” (Norman J.) Fombelle of Decatur, IL. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Cori Neibuhr of Lincoln, IL; Brandt (Brooke) Neibuhr of Decatur, IL; Bryan Neibuhr (fiancé Megan Harshbarger) of Decatur, IL; Kirk Neibuhr of Indianapolis, IN; Michael (Jennifer) Thomas of Decatur, IL; and Matthew Thomas of Jacksonville, IL. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren; Austin Hudson and Natalie Thomas both of Decatur, IL.Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband Guy, son Jeff Neibuhr, and step-mother Jerry Montgomery.
