Marilyn J. Whitehurst, 85, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019, in her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, at Northwest Christian Church. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to Northwest Christian Church or American Cancer Society. Marilyn was born September 11, 1933, in Decatur, daughter of Earl and Genevieve (Blackshaw) McQuality. She married Larry D. Whitehurst on December 19, 1953, in Decatur. Marilyn was an active member of Northwest Christian Church for 55 years, and A.B.W.A. where she received the Woman of the Year award. She worked at Fair Havens Christian Home for 25 years then volunteered at Decatur Memorial Hospital for 19 years. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 65 years, Larry; daughter, Angela Udelhofen and husband John of Elmhurst, IL; sons, Scott Whitehurst and wife Debbie of Eden Prairie, MN, and Lance Whitehurst and wife Carolyn of Cincinnati, OH; five grandchildren, Joshua, Abby, Rachel, Hannah, and Leah. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Don.
