Marilyn M. Long, 77, of Decatur, died 1:45 PM, Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be 1:30 PM, Monday, May 20, 2013, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 PM Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials: Prairie Avenue Christian Church or Decatur Public Schools Foundation. Marilyn was born March 8, 1936, in Decatur, IL the daughter of Glenn and Vera Gladys (Reed) McDaniel. She married Wayne A. Long on November 25, 1956 in Decatur, IL. Mrs. Long was an RN and retired as a school nurse from Decatur Public Schools. She was a life time member of Prairie Avenue Christian Church. She loved volunteering at the schools and with RSVP. She also volunteered with the Macon County Health Department to help with the school immunizations. She was a Charter Member of the Decatur Evening Quilt Guild. Marilyn leaves behind her four children, Karen S. Wade and husband, Larry of Decatur, IL, Brenda K. Bill and husband Kenneth of Roanoke, IL, Ken W. Long and wife, Stacey of Mt. Pulaski, IL, Elizabeth A. Long of Decatur, IL; six grandchildren, Harrison Wade, New York City, New York, Preston Wade (USAF) Anchorage, AK, Caleb Bill of Roanoke, IL, Erin Bill of Roanoke, IL, Abraham Long of Decatur, IL, and Parker Long of Decatur, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne and one brother, William McDaniel. "
