Marie L. Salogga, 93, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 1:35 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday (03-13-2012), at St. John's Lutheran Church, Decatur. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral services at the church and from 6-8 P.M. Monday (03-12-2012), at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Lutheran School Association, or donor's choice. Marie was born July 11, 1918, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Otto and Wilhelmine (Kujawa) Gross. She married Walter J. Salogga on November 26, 1942, in Decatur. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2001. Marie was a life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she was also a member of the Bible class, LWML, and Ladies Friendship Circle. She retired after 20 years of service as an office manager, working for orthodontists Winter, Williams, Staley, Slusar, & Bishop. Marie enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing pinochle. She was also a nursing home volunteer and delivered Braille bulletins from the Lutheran church. Marie enjoyed her family and was very active in the church, and also sang in the church choir. Surviving are her daughters Kay (David) Shelton of Bethany, IL, and Joyce (Don) Williams of Litchfield, IL; son David (Brenda) Salogga of Decatur, IL; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and one sister. "
