Marie Anna Poland, 98, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2015, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, March 8, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to First Congregational Church. Marie was born in Peoria, IL on December 23, 1916, daughter of Nathan and Marie A. (Zeisler) Troth. She married Stanley C. Poland in Burlington, Iowa on April 1, 1941. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2012. Marie was employed at Caterpillar, Inc. in Peoria, IL. She was an accomplished pianist, involved in many musical activities. Marie was an accompanist for the Azella Lewis Dance School in Robein, East Peoria and was President of the Robein Civic Club. She played bridge and was an avid golfer. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Thompson of Metamora, IL; son Mark (wife Carol) Poland of Warrensburg, IL; granddaughters Becky (husband Toby) Williams of Forsyth, IL, Constance (fiancé Dave Eckart) Poland of Warrensburg,IL; great granddaughters Karissa and Kyra Poland of Warrensburg; great grandsons Aiden and Logan Williams of Forsyth, Cole Eckart of Warrensburg, IL; sister-in-law Mary Lou Troth; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Frank Troth, and sister Gerry McCormack. The family would like to give special thanks to the D.M.H.
