Marie Bauer

Marie Christine Bauer, 85, of Decatur, died Monday, May 6, 2019, at Lincolnshire Manor. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday (05-08-2019) at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Entombment will be in the Star of Hope Mausoleum Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to The First Congregational United Church of Christ, Decatur, IL or the Kiwanianne Scholarship Fund. Marie was born September 13, 1933, in Pana, the daughter of Fred M. and Clara M. (Metzger) Galster. She moved to Decatur in 1951 from Dollville, and worked as a teller at Millikin National Bank for 20 years. Marie married Edward Bauer in Decatur on August 8, 1970. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1981. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Kiwaniannes, and DMH auxiliary. Marie enjoyed reading, dining out, and collecting Hummels. She is survived by sister-in-law Phyllis Smith and brother-in-law Robert (Mary Jean) Bauer; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, in laws, Phillip and Frances Bauer, and sister-in-law Bernadine Sebok.
