Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Decatur, IL, with Rev. Wes Feltner officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be directed to the Project Linus Group, Attn: Mary Balagna, 730 Stephens Creek Blvd., Forsyth, IL 62535.Margie was born July 1, 1924, the daughter of Herschal and Gladys McCoy. She married Robert (Bob) Barnett on January 29, 1942, recently celebrating their 68th anniversary. She worked part-time at the Christy Foltz, Inc., YWCA and PC Ltd., but devoted most of her time at home caring for her three children and husband. She spent many hours in her later life sewing with her Scraps Group and the Decatur Quilters Guild, and was especially honored to be made an honorary life time member. She was a devoted member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. In addition, she was an avid Cubs and Illini basketball fan and wore her knees out watching them on TV.Nenaw, as she was affectionately called, was a wonderful mother to: Michael Barnett and wife Shirley, Decatur, IL, Linda Hawke and her husband Gary of Windsor, CA, and Stephen Barnett of Decatur. Grandchildren: Nicole, Brandon, Sara, and great-grandson, Jim, were the loves of her life, as were her sisters and brother, Shirley Highland, twins Wanda Carr and Maurice McCoy, and Carole Karmazinas. She also embraced with special love, her step-grandchildren, Jason and Jessica Hawke and her many nieces, nephews, and their families. Preceeding her in death were her parents and sister, Marilyn Jo Fair.The family would like to thank the DMH 4440 ICU unit, Drs. P. Gowdar, A.Collins, B. Deol, Tabernacle Baptist Church, and her new family of angels, the staff at Imboden Creek Living Center, for the wonderful and loving care given to her.A devoted Christian and disciple of Christ, she is now with her Lord and Savior, and embraced by her family and friends in heaven.
