Margaret Shepherd

Margaret “Margy” Alice Shepherd, 89, of Forsyth, IL, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at Hickory Point Christian Village, Forsyth, IL. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m.,Friday, October 11, 2019, in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Macon County Honor Guard. Margaret “Margy” Alice (White) Shepherd was born in Decatur, IL, on October 30, 1929, to LeVeata & David White. They moved to Mt. Zion when she was 9 months old and lived there until she married John A. Shepherd on September 8, 1961. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2002. Margy is a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Kiwanianne Club of Decatur, and previously volunteered at DMH Auxiliary and St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary. Margy worked for A.E. Staley Co. (Tate & Lyle) for 37 years. Margy leaves behind her brother, Donald C. White of Manteno, IL; several nieces and nephews, Carol Collister (Russell) of Galva, IL, Mary Richardson (Gene), Donald J. White (Ronda) of Decatur, and Ronald J. White (Crystal) who recently moved to St. Louis, and David Lyn White (Melody) of Peoria, IL; plus several great nephews and nieces. Margy was also preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her brothers David & Lyndell, and her sister Jeanne Dyer. Margy would like to give special thanks to her wonderful doctor Dr. Gregory Totel and his wonderful staff, for their outstanding care and friendship they have provided for many years.
