Margaret Rotz

Margaret M. Rotz, 70, of Forsyth, IL, died 10:59 P.M., Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL, surrounded by her loving family and church friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 27, 2012, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5 to 7 P.M., Sunday, February 26, and one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to Forsyth United Methodist Church or "Come Together, Let's Walk", c/o Decatur Memorial Foundation, 2300 N. Edward, Decatur, IL 62526. Margaret was born May 16, 1941, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Aaron and Mary Ella (Green) McMurray. She married Dennis L. Rotz on June 8, 1959 in Decatur, IL. Margaret was a member of Forsyth United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women's Group, sang in the church choir and was involved in Elder Watch. She was a Decatur Memorial Hospital Caretaker for 9 years, and prepared food for the Macon County Jail. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dennis of Forsyth, IL; son David of Maroa, IL; daughter Tammy (Mark) Laughery of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Bradley Rotz, Joseph Rotz, Christian Bailey; sisters Joyce (Wilber ) Sweazy of Decatur, IL, Shirley (Lloyd) Thomsen of Lincoln, NB; and special friend Bert Difani-Davis of Holtis, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 half sisters and 3 grandchildren. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the DMH Cancer Care Center and to the staff of ICU West who took such good care of her. "
