Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Monday, August 25, at Chestnut Street Church of Christ, Hoopeston, IL, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Manns Chapel Cemetery, Rossville, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to Chestnut Street Church of Christ, Hoopeston, IL.Margaret was the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Yeazel) Matthews. She was born February 17, 1914 in the Manns Chapel area, south of Rossville, IL. She attended Manns Chapel and Bethel Grade School and Alvin High School.Margaret married Glenn C. Hughes on March 3, 1940 and they celebrated their 66th anniversary in 2006. She lived in the Alvin area most of her life until moving to Hoopeston, IL, where she lived for 16 years. In 2006, they moved to Warrensburg, IL to make her home with her son which is where she was cared for by her granddaughter, Gina.Margaret is survived by her son Gary (Gail) Hughes of Warrensburg, IL, granddaughter Gina (Tom) Krigbaum of Decatur, IL, grandson Greg Hughes of Bloomington, IL, two great grandsons Jakob and Jarod Krigbaum of Dectaur, IL, brother Larry (Ardith) Matthews of Oakwood, IL, and sister Eileen (Charlie) Barfknecht of Iowa City, IA.She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, her parents, and two brothers John and Howard Matthews.Margaret was a homemaker and helpmate on the farm. She was a member of the Chestnut Street Church of Christ in Hoopeston, IL, and enjoyed her church friends very much. Margaret was a family person and loved her family very dearly. "
