Margaret Howley

Margaret Joan Howley, 93, of Decatur, IL passed away on May 11, 2019 at Imboden Creek Living Center in Decatur. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 10:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Decatur with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Decatur. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Catholic Charities Food Pantry. Margaret was born on March 14, 1926, in Decatur, the daughter of John M. and Anna T. (Doran) Howley. She attended St. Thomas, St. Teresa and St. John’s School of Nursing. Following her retirement from the office of Dr. J. Donald Ferry, she volunteered at St. James school and Homework Hangout. She was a charter member of the DieHard Cubs organization, and a life-long Notre Dame football fan. Surviving are son; Terry (wife, Phyllis) Howley of Decatur, IL and four grandchildren; James (wife, Maggie) Howley, Matt Howley, John (wife, Katie) Howley and Elizabeth Howley all of Decatur; five great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Howley of Atlanta, GA and several nieces and nephews. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, one brother Jack, and sisters Mary Eloise Kiser and her husband Robert, and Roberta Van Deventer. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Imboden Creek for their wonderful care during Margaret’s short stay.
