Marcella Jones

Marcella "Sally" Jones, 90, of Decatur, IL, died 1:28 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2013, at Sullivan East View Terrace in Sullivan, IL. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Boiling Springs Cemetery. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Harbor Light Hospice, Forsyth, IL. Marcella was born September 9, 1923, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Charles and Tresa (Anderson) Tate. She married Lloyd W. Jones on May 31, 1941 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death in June 1990. Marcella worked as a spot welder at Walrus Manufacturing Co., and later at Borg-Warner Corporation. She thoroughly enjoyed playing pinocle, bunko and bingo. She was also an avid bowler and a devoted St. Louis Cardinal fan. She is survived by her children Cynthia (David) Lichtenberger, David (Vicki) Jones, Carole (Raymond) Walters, all of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Todd Lichtenberger, Jim Lichtenberger, Johnny Jones, William Jones, Christine Beavers, Dannell Hilligoss; 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Opal Bronx, Sandy Ratcliff, Linda Poland; and 1 brother: Richard Tate. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Lisa Kirby, and 4 brothers: Dewey, Jim, Kent, and Jetty Tate. "
