Madeline Renshaw-Pugsley, age 66, of Decatur, IL, passed away on April 16, 2026.
Madeline was often referred to as “Maddie” by her friends and family. Growing up her fathers nickname for her was “little bit.”
Madeline earned an Associate of Applied Science degree from Richland Community College.
In life, Madeline exuded a radiant love. A glow that others were drawn to. She loved her family deeply. Everything she did, she did for others. She was thoughtful and caring. She was a loving, nurturing, and selfless mother; she was a devoted wife, who loved her husband. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She always put her families needs above her own.
Madeline loved her animals. She adored her 2 cats, Fancy, and Sneakers. She enjoyed watching the wildlife in her scenic backyard and feeding them. She was particularly fond of her deer. Once, even nursing and raising a baby deer, she called “Baby”, sheltering it, feeding it, sleeping outside under a hut with her.
Madeline was strong. The glue that held everything together. If there was a problem, she fixed it. She wouldn’t halt, she just jumped in. She fed people when they were hungry, clothed them when needed, bought toys for kids, even took people in when they had no where else to go.
Madeline was lively and outgoing. Everyday with her was a special gift. A precious piece of time within all of us who knew her. Now we are left with only a memory of a time. Maybe your memory was her working at Pla-Mor Lanes, bowling in leagues, tournaments, or her coordinating “Teen Night”, maybe you remember her as a tire builder at Firestone, or an Accountant Assistant at Cim-Tec. Or maybe you know her another way. One day, we will reunited with our mother, wife, sister, grandmother, or friend. We will forever miss you and love you, holding our memories of you close to our hearts until we meet again.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert Pugsley Jr.; her son, Mark Renshaw Jr., her daughter, Crystal Roberts (Renshaw); her step-children, Brandie Ann, Jacob, Kyle, Matthew, Tiffany; her sister, Katherine Dickinson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her children’s father, Mark Renshaw Sr.
Preceded in death by her father, Frederick, her mother Elizabeth; brothers, Chuck, Douglas, Thomas; step-son, Nathaniel; her dogs, Lady, Sadie; Deer, Baby.
A graveside service will be held 12:00 PM Friday, April 24, 2026, at Macon County Memorial Park. A celebration of life will follow from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Harvest Christian Center, Decatur, IL.
