M. Lougene Erwin, 73, of Decatur, IL, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017, at her residence.Visitation for Lougene will be from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur; and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Thursday. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 2, 2017, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Croninger Cemetery, Cisco, IL.Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.Lougene was born August 7, 1943 in Peace Valley, MO, the daughter of Robert L. and Marceil M. (Wood) Baser. She married Richard Erwin on March 17, 1968 in Decatur, IL.Lougene was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She worked for Borg Warner York Division for 20 years and later retired from Horace Mann on February 2, 2009. Lougene was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Rose Society in Decatur, and charter member of Local Merry Midwest Hallmark Collector Club. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard; siblings David Garrison and wife Courtney of Heber Springs, AR, Tom Baser and wife Terri of Heber Springs, AR., Virgil Baser and wife Beverly of Marengo, IL., Hazel Dunham and husband Rick of Bella Vista, AR., and Lonnie Master and wife Ellen of Rockford, IL.; children David Crum and special friend Barb Scanlon of Decatur, Debbie King and husband Danny of Canton, GA, Rebecca Wortman and husband Tim of Decatur, Michel Propst and husband JR of Mt. Zion, Ragenia Woltz and husband Fred of Decatur, Richard Erwin, Jr. of Winchester, KY, Christopher Erwin and wife Natalie of Decatur; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters.She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two grandsons, and one great-grandson.
