With heavy hearts we say goodbye to our precious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, M. June Bottrell Brown, who died on July 24, 2013, at her home in Blue Mound, IL. Family and friends are invited to honor June at a Funeral Service on Monday, July 29, 2013, 10:00 a.m., at Blue Mound United Methodist Church in Blue Mound, IL, and a visitation on Sunday, July 28, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound, IL. Memorials may be made to Blue Mound United Methodist Church, Blue Mound, IL. June came into the world on June 1, 1915 and resided in Blue Mound area all of her life. She was educated in a rural grade school and completed her education at Blue Mound High School. She learned her work ethics on the farm and caring for a younger invalid brother. June married Harold Brown on July 17, 1938 and raised eight boisterous and demanding children while caring for her husband. She worked in the cafeteria at Blue Mound Grade School monitoring her children, and then her grandchildren for 32 years. She was a dedicated wife, and mother, a skilled seamstress, a wonderful cook, and a generous advocate for those who were sick by picking flowers from her garden. June was a life long member of the Blue Mound Methodist Church in Blue Mound. June's memory will be cherished by her surviving family members, sons Gary (Dixie) Brown of Boody, IL, Dennis (Linda) Brown of Findlay, IL, David (Vickie) Brown of Smyrna, TN, Phillip (Karen) Brown of Macon, IL, and Merle (Joyce) Brown of Bethany, IL and daughters Judy Galloway (Arvid) of Marionville, MO, Kathy Robinson (Jene) of Decatur, IL, and Marsha Giles of Ft. Worth, TX. She was blessed with 26 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. Her family was delighted in her sharp intellect, her wry sense of humor, her beauty and grace, and her unshakable love and support. They value her words of wisdom, her high moral standards, and her courage to make tough decisions. Her patience, boldness, loyalty and faith will continue to be their North Star. Those beloved family members who went before her include her parents: Homer Bottrell and Margaret Ann Bottrell, her husband of 27 years: Harold Marshall Brown, her sister: Erma Hamilton, her brothers: Joseph Bottrell, Cletus Bottrell, Lyle Bottrell, and three great grandchildren. "
