M. Marlene Betzer, 88, of Mt. Zion, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024.
Private family services will be held at Union Cemetery, Oreana with Scott Marsh officiating.
Marlene was born December 13, 1935 in Weldon, the daughter of Duane and Ruth (Perkins) McConkey. She married Donald L. Betzer on June 7, 1953. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2007. Marlene worked for many years as a cook at Argenta-Oreana Schools. She enjoyed shopping and loved to cook delicious meals for her family, and she was an excellent cook. She and Don enjoyed square dancing. Marlene truly loved taking care of her family and loved time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters: Cynthia (Jim) Fink of Cisco, Brenda (Eric) Dahman of Argenta, and Karen Schroeder of Decatur; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; grandson, Chad Dahman; and 2 brothers.
