Lynn Alcott Scoville, 53, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home with an honorary wine toast to follow. The family will receive friends at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to a charity of your choice in Lynn’s honor. Lynn was born July 28, 1963, in Hampton, VA, daughter of Robert and Barbara (Parrish) Alcott. She married Robert Scoville May 21, 1982 in Hampton, VA. Lynn was a former executive director of DeWitt County Human Resources Center. She enjoyed helping people and was dedicated to serving others. Lynn led from her heart and with her head. She was a member of Clinton Rotary and Decatur Rotary. Lynn enjoyed going to beaches, especially Buckroe Beach and Factory Point in Hampton, Virginia, and TV shows Bonanza and Emergency. She loved animals, especially shelter animals, reading in the pool, reading about ghosts, Chardonnay and relaxing in mu-mus. Lynn was known for her sense of humor and had a deep passion for service and love for others. Surviving are her husband Robert; daughter Laura; twins Nicholas and Megan; parents Robert and Barbara; many friends and her rescue dog Oliver. Lynn was preceded in death by her brother Robert G. Alcott, Jr. and beloved cat Joshua. "
