Lyle D. Hoffman, 84, of Decatur, died Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Heritage Health. Private family services will be held at a later date. Mr. Hoffman was born August 31, 1930 in Decatur, the son of Delmond E. And Olvetta G. (Stoewsand) Hoffman. He was a partner in Hoffman Sheet Metal, retiring in 1985. He married Emily R. Keithley on November 21, 1957. Mr. Hoffman also served in the Air Force for 4 years during the Korean War. Surviving are his son Brian D. Hoffman of Decatur, daughter Carol Zilz (Bob) of Argenta, grandsons Mitch Earhart and Brett Earhart, both of Colorado, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Delmond L. Hoffman, brother Ron Hoffman, and sister Jeannine Walser. The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Health Services for their wonderful care. "
