Lucy E. Wood, 90, of Decatur, IL, died at 5:30 A.M. on Thursday (05-08-08) in her residence.Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday (05-10-08) at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 P.M., Friday (05-09-08) at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home Decatur, IL. Burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery Decatur, IL. Arrangements are being handled by Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL.Memorials may be made to: Fair Havens Christian Home.Lucy was born on May 19, 1917 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Harry Goldenstein and Margaret (Pritchard) Goldenstein. She married Burle Wood on December 6, 1941 in Union, Missouri. He preceded her in death.She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and formerly a member of Trueblood United Methodist Church. She was very active with volunteer work at her church. Lucy was co-founder of Wood Printing, which she operated with her husband Burle from 1954-1980. Lucy enjoyed gardening, yardwork, and cooking. She is survived by her son Steven (Donna) Wood of Union, MO; daughter Margaret Wood of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Matthew (Pam) Wood of Carterville, IL, Kristin Taylor of Decatur, IL, Andrew (Kristin) Wood of Chicago, IL, Scott Pritts of Chicago, IL; step grandson Brian Shures of Decatur, IL; 7 great grandchildren; special friends Ethel Roles and Judy Schmidt.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Burle, sisters Bonnie Snyder and Hariett Boudell, and step grandson Chris Shures.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com.
