Lucile Grace Heinkel, nee Spinner, died peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Fair Havens Christian Home at the age of 101. Service will be 11:00 Monday, December 19 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, and one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Mrs. Heinkel was born May 12, 1910 in Clarksdale, IL, the daughter of Earnest and Lottie Spinner. She married Herbert R. Heinkel on March 20, 1935. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She worked as bookkeeper, first for Swift and Co., then Heinkel's Packing Co., and finally at Pla-Mor Lanes, "officially" retiring at age 96 in 2006 when the Lanes were sold. Mrs. Heinkel was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert, her parents, two brothers - Merle and Earnest, and a sister - Doris. Surviving are her children, Janice Younger and husband Pastor Melvin of Dayton, Ohio; Richard Heinkel and wife Judy of Decatur; Joan Heinkel and husband Ben Massell of Bend, Ore.; grandchildren, Cheryl Younger; Kevin Younger and wife Judy and children Jacob and David; Brenda Shapiro and husband Michael and children Gabriella, Joshua and Emma; Marcia Groesbeck and husband Rob and children Declan and Kellen; Michael Younger and wife Lillian; Tami and husband Jay and children Stephanie, Davin and Gibbie and granddaughter Bella; Ted Heinkel and wife Kim and children Jade, Brandon and wife Bianca, and Kristen; Tony Heinkel; Tricia Federico and children Bailey, Corrine, and Danielle; Jamie Martin and wife Jami and children Kyleigh and Mackenzie; Emily Tuttle and husband Braden and children Libby and Alex. . She leaves behind many friends who helped and sustained her through the last years - the "breakfast club" that met every Saturday morning, and other friends who drove her to hair appointments, took her to lunch and shopping. Thanks for your care and concern for her. The whole family is especially grateful to the staff at Fair Havens Christian Home who took such good, loving care of her during the last months, along with her special caregivers Sylvia Dougherty, Pat Stewart, Marylin Chaney, and Tonia Jones.
