Louis Earl Golden II, 72, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025.
Louis was born October 20,1952 in Pekin, IL son of Louis Earl and Evelyn Lucille (Diegel) Golden. Lou started his career by following in his father’s footsteps. He worked at Caterpillar in Decatur, learning the ropes and devising a plan for his future. Lou then went on to start his own successful manufacturing company, which he operated until his early retirement. Afterwards, Lou enjoyed spending time watching his two sons grow up, playing his clarinet, and engaging in thought-provoking conversations. Lou remained as sharp as a tack until his dying days.
Surviving are his sons: Matthew Golden of Alexandria, VA, and Louis Golden III, of Dallas, TX, sisters Jerry Golden of Seattle, WA, and Crystal Golden-Zayed of Bloomington, MN and brother Scott Golden of New York.
He was preceded in death by both parents and brother Steve Golden.
According to his wishes, private services will be held at a later date.
