Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Decatur, IL, with visitation from 9 a.m until 10:00 a.m at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, will be handling the arrangements.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, Disabled American Veterans, or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Jerry was born January 1, 1933 in Decatur, IL., the son of Louis Wayne and Merle C.(Cazier) Dickerson. He married Bettie Ruth Warren on August 7, 1964 in Decatur, IL, she proceeded him in death on October 26, 1987.Jerry served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Many will remember Jerry as owner and operator of Dickerson Plumbing. He was a Master Plumber for over 40 years. Jerry was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Pipefitters & Plumbers Local #65, American Legion and Moose Lodge.Surviving are his daughter, Cyndie of Northern VA, two sons Drake and Drew of IL, his brother, James of AZ, his sister, Joyce of CO, son-in-law, Tom of Northern VA, sister-in-law, Janet of AZ, numerous grandchildren and many special friends and relatives.His wife, parents, and two sisters, Joan (Dickerson) OLeary and Jean Dickerson preceded him in death.While on earth, Jerry was a wonderful and loving father, grandfather, friend, and devoted Catholic. He enjoys Gods grace, mercy, forgiveness and peace. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He waits to greet his family and friends in Heaven. "
