Lorraine was born January 1, 1935, in Winona, MN, the daughter of Michael and Genevieve (Susa) Przybylski. She married Charles E. Schollmeier on September 6, 1958, in Winona MN, and together they raised six children. Charles preceded her in death on October 15, 1996. Lorraine later married Robert Howard on May 15, 2004, in Decatur, IL, and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2012.
A devoted member of St. James Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Holy Spirit, Lorraine gave generously of her time—volunteering as church rosary leader, mats for homeless ministry, local soup kitchen, serving as a Eucharistic minister to the sick in hospitals, nursing homes and home-bound. She loved gardening and canning and spent many years tending to her plants and sharing the fruits of her labor. Above all, she cherished time with her family and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those around her.
She is survived by her six children: Steve Schollmeier of Oreana, IL; Cathy Schollmeier of The Villages, FL; Gary (Rosanne) Schollmeier of Mt. Zion, IL; Teresa (Dru) Butterfield of The Villages, FL; Michael (Joan) Schollmeier of , Shakopee MN; and Ben (Trina) Schollmeier of The Villages, FL; as well as fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one infant child; her brother, Irving Przybylski; and her daughter in law, Janet Schollmeier.
