Rilla Lorraine Dobson Albert passed away the morning of July 19, 2015, at her home in Oakley. Lorraine was born May 18, 1923, in rural Cerro Gordo to Guy and Ferne Dobson. After graduating from Cerro Gordo High School, she attended Brown's Business College. She later joined the Navy and served her country in the WAVES in Washington D.C. from December 1, 1944 - February 11, 1946. November 10, 1945, she married Adrian "Jake" Albert who was also serving his country with the Army Air Force. Survivors include Jake, her husband of 69 years; her children, Christine (Ron) Berbaum, Arlone (Bob) Doan, and Mark Albert; 6 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne Dobson, sisters: Eloise Hiser, Wilma Liestman and Carolyn Yordy; and one grandson, Bradley Gibbons. Lorraine loved to go ballroom dancing, travel and visit with family and friends. Services will be held at Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church with the visitation from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, July 22 and the funeral at 10 on Thursday, July 23. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Cerro Gordo American Legion Post #117. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
