Loretta E. Taft, 98, of Decatur, IL, died 1:50 P.M., Friday, July 19, 2013, at Evergreen Senior Living, Decatur, IL. Graveside services will be conducted at 12:30 PM, Saturday July 27, 2013, at Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL, with visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon Saturday at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Parish of St. James and St. Patrick Catholic Church, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL will be handling the arrangements. Loretta was born September 30, 1914, in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of Joseph and Teresa (Dickhaus) Eckert. She married Joseph Taft 1n 1943 in New York, New York. He preceded her in death in . She was a secretary for many years at the G.S. Chastain Co. in Decatur. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed planting many flowers and vegetables each spring. Loretta is survived by her sons Robert M. (Pam) Taft of Decatur, IL, and William J. (Barbara) Taft of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren Anthony Taft of Coral Springs, FL, Joseph Taft of Roscoe, IL, and Tara Taft of Chicago, IL; nieces and nephews Ted Vorholt, Julie Vorholt, Nick Vorholt; and cousin Joan (Ed) Vorholt of Cincinnati, OH. She was preceded in death by her three brothers Joseph Eckert, Jr., Urban Eckert, and Norbert Eckert. "
