Lois P. Soules, 88, of Elizabeth City, NC, formerly of Decatur, IL, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2012 at Cerro Gordo Cemetery with Pastor Joe Drew officiating. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec 2, 2012 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, 2827 N. Oakland Ave, Decatur. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Lois was born April 23, 1924, in West Frankfort, Illinois, the Daughter of Harry and Margret Martin. She attended Frankfort High School. She married James L Soules on August 23, 1941. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2008. Lois's home church was Peoples Church of God in Decatur, Illinois which she has been affiliated with for over 50 years. Lois was Past Grand Royal Matron of the Order of the Amaranth of the State of Illinois, Past Deputy Supreme Royal Matron of the Order of the Amaranth, and Supreme Truth with Leighton Court Decatur, IL. Surviving are her children; son Michael A. Soules and wife Cindy, grandchildren Megan Soules of Raleigh, North Carolina and Sam Soules of Elizabeth City, daughter Carolyn J. Black of Austin TX, grandson Jeff Coventry of Corpus Christi, TX and granddaughters Michelle Stewart of Decatur, IL and Angela Black of Austin, TX, son James G. Soules and wife Diane, grandsons James R. and Joshua D. of Decatur, IL; 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, 2 Step Grandsons. Also surviving are her nephews Ronald Martin of Brandon, MS, Leborn Martin of Decatur, Illinois, Jack Winning of Terre Haute, Indiana, and Jim Winning of Alabama, and niece Debby Martin Bussler of West Frankfort, Illinois. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers Clifton, Edward and Harry Jr, 1 sister Eileen Winning, daughter Angela Margell, and granddaughter Cynda Soules and Nicole Bechtel. The family would like to thank everyone who has been so kind to Lois over the past few years. Special thanks to the wonderful caring staff at Winslow's Nursing home and Albemarle Hospice in Elizabeth City NC. We love you Mom, you will be in our hearts forever. "
