Lois Jean Blankenship Radasch, 90, of Chesterfield, MO, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 3, 2018, in Town and Country, MO. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, April 7, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made in loving memory of Lois to Manchester United Methodist Church, Manchester, MO or Central Christian Church, Decatur, IL.Lois was born second of seven children on May 13, 1927, in Ramsey, IL, the daughter of Charles M. and Ruth (Oleson) Blankenship. She was united in marriage to Richard Dean Radasch at Central Christian Church in Decatur, IL. Lois devoted her life to her family, showing kindness and love underneath a quiet and reserved personality. She was an avid supporter of her son and his many interests growing up, and her home was a warm and welcoming place for her son’s friends. In her early career, Lois worked at H. Post and Sons, Martin Jewelers and the Ginny Lee where she loved to use her interior decorating skills. She was a long-time volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL and later worked in the gift shop at the hospital. She had a second career as a pharmaceutical technician at Rambo Pharmacy, valued for her care and reliability, where she worked until her early 80s. Later in life, Lois moved to St. Louis with her son and became an active member of the household preparing her many special dishes, supporting her grandchildren through their college years, attending college scouting visits and later campus activities. She never missed her son’s concerts and church performances and was a deeply loved member of her family. Lois is survived by her son Richard and daughter-in-law Deborah (Koucky) Radasch, her grandchildren, Faith Mary Radasch and Amanda Rose Radasch, and five of her siblings, Vivian Pope of Huntington Beach, CA, Donna Robinson of San Bernardino, CA, Charles Blankenship of Decatur, IL, Ron (Jane) Blankenship of Decatur, IL, and Sheila (Jim) Roppa of O’Fallon, MO., and many nieces and nephews.Lois was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Norma Protko.
