Lois Moore

Lois M. Moore, 90, of Decatur, IL, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral Mass will be 6 p.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Graveside service will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Teresa High School or St. Thomas Catholic Church. Lois was born December 19, 1923 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of John C. and Marie A. (Carlson) Moore. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, where she was very involved on the church choir, liturgy board and held many other positions in the church. While working at the Herald & Review for 38 years, Lois started in the Library and later worked in the News Room, retiring in 1985. She graduated from St. Francis College at Joliet, IL, with an English major and minor in Journalism, and was a 50 year member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority-Laureate Chapter. Lois was formerly President of the Decatur Area Congregations of Decatur Area. She is survived by her cousin Dolores Carlson of Elmhurst, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Father John D. Moore, and aunt Ruth Fitzgerald. "
