Lloyd W. Powell, 87, of Decatur, IL, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017, at his residence, surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with Masonic Rites conducted by Stephen Decatur Lodge #979 at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Shriners Children’s Hospital.Lloyd was born January 30, 1930, in Beecher City, IL, the son of Clarence W. and Ida W. (Arnold) Powell. He married Mary C. Wolf on January 31, 1960 in Decatur, IL and she preceded him in death. He later married Delores A. Threlkeld in 2000 in Decatur, IL and she preceded him in death.Lloyd was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He served as a Decatur Fireman for 32 years, retiring in 1989. Lloyd was a member of Stephen Decatur Lodge #979 and Ansar Shrine.He is survived by his children Robert D. (Barbara) Bridgman of Glen Carbon, IL, Patricia (Daniel) Walker, Pamela (James) Musser, all of Decatur; grandchildren Amanda Bridgman, Benjamin (Chrissy) Bridgman, Daniel (Emily) Walker, Mary Walker, Grace Walker, A.J. (Ashley) Musser, Sarah (Amanda) Cable-Musser, Ryan Musser; brothers Donald (Kimi) Powell of San Antonio, TX, C.Ray (Sharon) Powell of Decatur.He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, brother Alfred, and sister Anna McGill.
