Lloyd L. Minor, 94, of Decatur, IL, passed into eternal life, Monday, December 26, 2011, at Lincoln Rehabilitation Center, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be today at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to "Passages" Hospice. Lloyd was born August 12, 1917, in Bement, IL, the son of George Washington and Fannie Mae (Gardner) Minor. He married Esther I. Sheets in 1955. Mr. Minor had been a painter for many years for the State of Illinois. After his retirement, he moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida, where he became active in senior activities, especially Senior Softball Leagues. In later years, he returned to Decatur, where he enjoyed bowling, bingo, Fighting Illini basketball games, and especially watching "Walker, Texas Ranger". He is survived by his children Richard E. (Joy) Semelka of Ocala, FL, Imelda "Sue" Wilcott of Decatur, IL, Lee (Howard) Nailer of Decatur, IL, and Lloyd Jr. (Elaine) Minor of Wellington, FL; 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Esther in 2001, son Carl Semelka in 2011, two brothers and two sisters. The Minor Family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Fior and staff, the staff of Lincoln Rehabilitation Center, and "Passages" Hospice for their many weeks of caring for Lloyd during his illness.
