Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 28, 2009, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 3465 N. MacArthur Rd., Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church.Burial will be at a later date in Swan Creek, IL. Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.Memorials may be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ, 3465 N. MacArthur Rd., Decatur, IL 62526 or Old Kings Orchard Community Center, 815 N. Church St., Decatur, IL 62521.Linda was born March 4, 1928, in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Ralph and Dorothy (Barnett) Simmons. She married Al Wilson on August 20, 1949.Linda was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Monmouth College with a major in physical education. She taught at Oakwood Township High School from 1950-52 and at St. Anne High School from 1953-55. She volunteered for many years with GUM Park, teaching arts and crafts to the children there, and served on the Old Kings Orchard Community Center Board. Linda loved working with children. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Al of Forsyth, IL; children Amy Lee Wilson of New Orleans, LA, Bill Wilson and wife Valerie Wells Wilson of Decatur, IL and Richard Wilson of Norwich, NY.She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Patricia Simmons Avrutik.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
