Linda F. Shields, 77, of Decatur, died Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Evelyn’s House, Creve Coeur, MO. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 6, at Glendale Cemetery, Fillmore, IL. Memorials may be made to Evelyn’s House, 1000 N. Mason Rd., Creve Coeur, MO 63141. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is assisting the family. Linda was born January 7, 1941, in Bingham, IL. the daughter of Casey Edward and Elsie Olive (Grigg) Whitten. She was a registered nurse in St. Louis for many years then here in Decatur at a nursing home. Linda was an avid Cardinal fan, loved to play bingo, and enjoyed spending time with her family, She is survived by her longtime companion, Bob Deister of Decatur; daughter, Susan R. Rister (Tim) of Dow; grandson, Nick T. Rister of Dow; brothers, Stan Whitten (Sharon) of Forsyth, Imer Whitten (Diane) of WA, and Ken Whitten (Ginny) of FL; sister, Judy Hawkins (Norman) of TN; many nieces and nephews.Linda was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Imogene Jones.
