Linda Hopkins, 84, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Linda was born on October 2nd, 1941 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Gene and Maxine Fry. She married Gary “Hop” Hopkins on June 6, 1959. Hop and Linda were married for 47 years. She was proud to have raised her family in the same house she grew up in.

Linda retired as corporate secretary from J.L. Hubbard Insurance & Bonds, with over 50 years of service. She was the “best fan” always supporting her four grandsons in all their activities. Linda created amazing scrapbooks celebrating her families’ pursuits. Her house was always decorated for the holidays, Christmas being her favorite. Linda loved to “go”, it didn’t matter if it was a weekend away with “Hop” or an “adventure” with her grandkids, she was always “in”. She enjoyed her Thursday afternoon errands with Janet Holmes, her sister-in-law and getting together with the “Old Mother Hubbard” work ladies.

Linda is survived by her 2 children: Mike (Jennifer) Hopkins, and Susan (Dan) Martini both from Decatur; grandsons Collin Hopkins, Joey Martini, Parker Hopkins, and Michael Martini.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Gene Fry.
