Lethy Smith

Lethy "Bernice" Smith, 78, of Oakley, died November 18, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM - 8 PM, Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo. Burial will be at Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Lethy was born April 7, 1933 in Red Bay, AL, the daughter of Tom McCroy and Effie Rosalee (Holland) Humphres. She married Earl Richard Smith on May 12, 1950 in Fulton, MS and he preceded her in death on March 19, 1991. Lethy was a Homemaker in her own home and was a member of the Cerro Gordo Assembly of God. Surviving Lethy are her children, Mae Evans of Cerro Gordo, Linda Smith of Oakley, Jerry Smith and his wife Susie of Crossville, AL, Danny Smith and his wife Jenny of Decatur, Michael Smith of Oakley, Richard Smith and his wife Amy of Oakley; siblings, Bobby Nelle Shaw of Millport, AL, Jewel Ray Atkins and her husband Lowell of Millport, AL, Esta Lee Harper and her husband Harold of Vernon, AL, Margie Madden of Fayette, AL, Lloyd Humphres and his wife Gloria of Millport, AL; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great- grandchildren.
