Lester Warren Stockdale, 86, of Decatur, IL died 9:15 PM June 26, 2010 Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur, IL.Funeral services will be 10AM Wednesday June 30th 2010 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home Decatur, IL with visitation 6 to 8 PM Tuesday June 29th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Military rites will be conducted by Macon County Honor Guard.Memorials: American Legion Post 105.Lester was born February 10, 1924 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of John and Olive ( Hampton ) Stockdale. He married Marjorie Weakley September 19, 1973 in Decatur.Lester was retired from ADM after 36 years of service as an operator at the East Plant and was a member of American Legion Post 105, a former member of the Macon County Honor Guard and loved to volunteer with the legion activities. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the Field Artillery. Lester was also an avid Cub baseball fan. Surviving: two stepdaughters- Donna ( Murrell)Thomas of Amherst, VA, and Darlene (Ed) Furtak of Ashland, KY; step-son- LeRoy Weakley of Findlay, IL; brother Dwight (Melba) Stockdale of Oakley, IL; step- brother Dean Tish of Taylorville, IL; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, wife-Marjorie and his first wife Mary, two sisters; one half-brother and one step-brother and step-sister.
